the following are notes from the daily running of the 2020 championship.

MONDAY FEBRUARY 3, 2020

CLEAR SKIES, SUNNY LOW OF 37, HIGH OF 76.

  1. Shagtime Scout had a strong forward race with 5 covey finds. Pinson’s Imagine That had a good race with 3 covey finds.

2. Strut Nation and Swami Rip Tide were both birdless and did not finish the brace.

3. Touch’s Two Step had 3 finds and 1 unproductive but was picked up at 50. Quail Roost Accolade had no birdwork and was lost at 30.

4. Waybetter Billy had an unproductive and a find. Waybetter Rocky backed but had no birds of his own. Both were picked up just after the hour.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2020

MOSTLY CLOUDY, LOW OF 40, HIGH OF 72

5. Lone Tree Splish Splash had a consistently steady forward race with 6 finds and 1 unproductive. He finished strong. Osceola’s Seminole Wind was lost by 30.

6. Steel City Alabama and Chelsea’s Thunderbolt had 1 find each. Both were asked to pick up at the hour mark.

7. Bail Me Out had a good race for the full 90 minutes with 4 finds and 1 unproductive. Hale’s Southern Touch had 4 finds and 1 unproductive but the handler harnessed him at 44.

8. Dragonfly was lost by 17. Coosawatchie Smooth Ride had 3 finds but was asked to be picked up at the hour.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 5, 2020

OVERCAST AND HUMID, LOW OF 64, HIGH OF 72. RAIN STARTING AT 2PM

9. Miller’s Creative Cause had 4 finds and a good forward race. Pure Gossip also had 4 finds and a back. Both dogs finished the brace.

10. Miller’s Just Plain Rowdy was lost off the breakaway. Swift Justice had 3 finds but was asked up at the hour mark.

11. Miller’s Heat Seeker had 4 stylish finds, 1 back and 1 unproductive with a strong forward race and finished in the rain. Charitable Deed had an error and was picked up at 22.

The final brace of the day was called off due to heavy rain with lightning and thunder

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 6, 2020

RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS. HIGH OF 72 WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING IN THE AFTERNOON. 3.5 INCHES OF RAIN FELL OVERNIGHT WITH SEVERAL MORE FORECAST FOR THE DAY.

no braces were run today.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2020

OVERCAST WITH A SCATTERED SHOWERS IN THE MORNING, SUNNY IN THE AFTERNOON. COLD AND WINDY. LOW 35, HIGH 48.

12. Miller’s Lock & Loaded had 3 finds, 2 backs and 1 unproductive. Tallokas Sundial had 6 finds. Both dogs had good races and finished the 90 minute brace.

13. Armstrong Mountain Dustie was picked up voluntarily by handler at 46 without birdwork. Philip’s Win Line had 2 finds but was asked up at 50.

14. Palara failed to back at 22 and was ordered up. LF Silverbell had 4 finds and was asked up at 53 minutes.

15. Sand Mountain Icy suffered 2 unproductives by the 30 minute mark. Ten Oaks Annie had 2 finds and 1 unproductive but was asked up at 46.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2020

COLD, OVERCAST WITH RAIN IN THE MORNING, SUNNY BY LATE AFTERNOON. LOW 34, HIGH 61.

16. Oceola’s Rebel Chief had 9 finds and a good strong race for 90 minutes. Bittersweet War Cry finished with 3 finds, 1 back and 1 unproductive.

17. Stone’s Tried & True had 1 find and judges asked him up at 47. Northwoods Charles had 1 unproductive and was harnessed by his handler at 40.

18. Westfall’s Ice Breaker had 1 find and was lost by 41. Class Act Express had 4 finds and 1 unproductive but was asked up at the hour mark.

19. Born on Fourth July was lost early. North Country Girl was up at 23 with a breach of manners.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 9, 2020

WARM AND SUNNY, LOW OF 50, HIGH OF 65

20. Dominator’s Ghost Rider had 2 finds and 1 unproductive but was asked up at the hour. Bo Bunda knocked birds on a relocation and was harnessed.

21. Upfront’s Southern Star had 1 find but was harnessed at 51. Corey’s Easy Holy Water had an unproductive early and was lost by 40.

22. Denton had 1 find and 1 unproductive but was picked up early. Nottingham’s Storm Rider was lost.

23. True Choice had 1 find but was picked up early. Touch’s Mae Mobley had an unproductive and was lost by 30.

MONDAY FEBRUARY 10, 2020

24. Thrill Me had 4 finds and 1 back with a strong forward race. Her second unproductive ended her bid with just minutes left in the brace. South Forty Princess had a error at 9 and was harnessed.

25. Tug of War had 2 finds but was lost at about 45 minutes. Purpleline Casper went birdless and was harnessed near the hour mark.

26. Just Thrillin had 4 finds and a good race but was asked up after the hour mark. Reedy Creek Dial Tone had one find and was up after the hour as well.

27. Urban’s Fantasy had 3 finds and a pleasing forward race. He was asked up at 1:10. Glenmartin Excalibur had 1 back and a breach of manners on a find and was picked up.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 11, 2020

MOSTLY CLOUDY, HOT, HUMID. LOW 60, HIGWARH 80

28. Miller Unfinished Business had 2 finds, 1 back and 1 unproductive. Judges asked him up at 1:13. Caladen’s Davinci had 3 finds and 1 unproductive. Handler harnessed him just past the hour.

29. Steel City Karen had 4 finds but was up at the hour. Ridge Creek Kate had an early unproductive and was harnessed by her handler.

30. Miller’s Bushwacker had 2 finds and 1 back. Cheyenne Jack also had 2 finds. Both dogs were picked up early.

31. SF Fullcolor went birdless and was asked up early at 39. In Swami’s Shadow was lost before the 30 minute mark.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2020

WARM, MOSTLY CLOUDY IN THE MORNING. LOW 63, HIGH 80

32. Bully Rock had 8 finds, 1 back and a strong forward race to finish the 90 minutes. Mobile Strike had 5 finds but was picked up at 1:23 when he moved slightly on birds.

33. Pine Straw Sweet Tea had an unproductive and was asked up early. Zumbro Stinky Pete had a big race but was birdless and also asked up early.

34. Hale’s Kickstarter was picked up by his handler before the 30 minute mark. Master’s Touch had 1 find, but was also harnessed by handler near the 30 minute mark.

35. Grand Prairie Thrill ran well but went birdless and was asked up before the hour. Zorra was lost before the half hour mark.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 13, 2020

MORNING RAIN CAUSED A 21 MINUTE DELAY IN START. HIGH OF 73 WITH TEMPS DROPPING TO THE 50’S IN THE AFTERNOON. CLEARING SKIES THROUGH THE DAY

36. Sandwood Creek finished the 90 minutes with 3 finds and a good race. Joho’s Grand River Bess had 2 finds but suffered 2 unproductives and was picked up at 1:07.

37. Silver W Jill Z and Knight’s White Lady were both lost soon after the breakaway.

38. Miller’s Unbridled Forever had 1 find, but then failed to back. Deerfield Game had 2 finds and a good race but was asked up just past the hour.

39. Miller’s Stray Bullet had 2 finds and 1 unproductive and was asked up at the hour.
